It was listed by Fowey River Antiques. Sold pieces stay on Sellingantiques as a record of what has passed through, and the next one is rarely far away.
Fowey River Antiques has dated this piece to the 1880s.

The figure is made of bronze patinated cast spelter and it sits on a jet black marble base which has lion claw feet, a leopards head mask to each side and a scroll or floral motif to the centre of the base. These have been hand applied with gold leaf and not gold painted as the majority of gilded clocks are. The white enamel dial and glass are perfect and it has a gilt polished brass door..

The French gold medal winning movement is a fine piece of engineering, an eight day movement which strikes on the hours and half hours on a tuned bell with a fine Brocot adjustment suspension.
This is one of the finest figural clocks we have ever seen and the condition is just amazing - extremely impressive and very heavy this will certainly be a talking point.

The movement has just undergone a full overhaul, clean and service so you can be assured that this clock is in tip top condition and will give trouble free service for many years to come.
The clock comes with both keys.

It is keeping accurate time to within 1 minute a week.
The clock comes with a full 12 month warranty.
Dimensions of clock: Height 23" Width is 19", Depth 9".
