Clock Longcase Grandfather Scottish Mahogany C1830 John Knox Paisley

Here we have a breathtaking longcase made by John Knox of Paisley c1830. As you can see the condition of this clock is stunning. This longcase is also of remarkable quality. The hood bears its original Eagle finial adourned with two gilded roundels. The swan neck pediment leads to inverted mouldings to the side. There is crossbanding and a beautiful chequered string which is replicated all over the case. The main body also has inverted mouldings to the sides which both I and my restorer have never seen the like of before and in his words are remarkable (rodlarwood.co.uk). The dial is also of remakable quality with a large sun to the top and beautiful brass engraved face and silvered chapter ring. Of course the movement as you can see is in cleaned and fully serviced condition. The clock is in perfect working order and in excellent retail condition. The dimensions are approx 88 inches high 10 deep and 20 wide.
