French Tortoiseshell and Ormolu Bracket Clock

Description

An impressive Louis XVth style waisted bracket clock, in a tortoiseshell veneered case. It has acanthus leaf ormolu decoration, a convex bevel edge glass and a white enamel dial. The 8 day movement strikes the hours and halves on a gong and is stamped by the original retailer, Maple of Paris.

41.00cm high 12.00cm deep ( 16.14 inches high 4.72 inches deep)

Current Condition

The case is in excellent condition and the tortoiseshell "glows", the ormolu retains is goriginal gilding. The movement has been serviced and is guaranteed for 12 months.
