French Ormolu Mantel Clock

19th century
Description

A good quality gilt ormolu French manel clock, depicting cupid watching two love birds, mounted on a flowing acanthus and reeded base. It has a white enamel dial signed by the retailer Charles Taylor & Co. Paris. It has an 8 day bell striking movement that strikes the hours and halves on a bell. It is also engraved on the backplate Charles Taylor.(France, c. 1870)

27.00cm wide 38.00cm high 14.00cm deep (10.63 inches wide 14.96 inches high 5.51 inches deep)

Current Condition

The case retains its original gilding, which is in good condition. The clock is in working order , the movement has been serviced and is guaranteed for 12 months.
