Rare Miniture Lacquered Longcase Clock

19th century
Description

A very rare miniature longcase clock in the 18th Cent Dutch style. The case is lacquered with an attractive crackled finish. The movement is similar to that found in a carriage clock and it has a very attractive enameled dial. Surrounding the dial is a pierced and gilt brass mask.

I would think it dates from the 19th Cent and is generally in good condition. There is a small piece of molding missing from the base. The movement runs for a few seconds (balance looks OK) but it probably needs a clean.

The maximum dimensions are:

51cm(20") high

14.5cm(5.75") wide

8cm(3") deep
