Large Timepiece Carriage Clock

Description

A large brass timepiece carrage clock, having a waited top handle, and an oval bevel edge top window. The enamel dial is marked Geneva, where it would have originally been retailed. It has an 8 day lever platform movement. Attributed to Japy Frere. (France, c. 1895)

9.00cm wide 16.00cm high 8.00cm deep (3.54 inches wide 6.30 inches high 3.15 inches deep)

Provenance

This clock is stamped E.P. on the underside and can be attributed Edouard Pequignot who worked from 1890 for Japy Frere and died in 1973 aged 93.

Current Condition

The case has been polished and lacqued it will not tarnish, the movement has been serviced and is guaranteed for 12 months

Declaration

Worboys Antiques has dated this piece to the 1890s.
