Brass Combination Carriage Clock

Description

An Original French Combination carriage clock, comprising of an 8 day timepiece and an aneroid barometer with a central thermometer. The brass case has an inset silvered top compass and a matching circular movement window. The clock has a white enamel dial signed by the retailer "R. Stewart, Paris". The clock has an 8 day lever platform movement. These clocks have been copied in China in recent years and are usually in enamel decorated cases with poor quality movements but marked Made in France. (France, c. 1880)

16.00cm wide 16.00cm high 7.00cm deep (6.30 inches wide 6.30 inches high 2.76 inches deep)

Current Condition

The movement has been serviced and is guarnteed for 12 month, the lever platform has been replaced. The brass case has been polished and lacquered so it will not tarnish.
