Geo III Moon Dial Longcase Clock

19th century
Description

A very impressive Geo III mahogany longcase clock. It is by John Wainwright of Nottingham. He is listed as working there from 1780-1799.

It has a beautifully figured mahogany case in excellent condition. It does however have the inevitable shrinkage crack to the base.

The 8 day movement is in good condition and keeping good time. The dial is in excellent condition with the moon and date dials working as they should.

The maximum dimensions are:

236cm(93") high

55cm(21.5") wide

25cm(10") deep.
