Swedish Painted Mora Longcase Clock

Description

An early 19th Century painted Swedish Mora longcase clock. It has a traditional circular hood and a waisted trunk with glass pendulum lenticle window and an outsplayed base. The painted convex dial is marked "Mora" the Swedish clockmaking district. It has an 8 day weight driven movement that sounds the hours on two differing tone bells.

(Sweden, c. 1820)

56.00cm wide 200.00cm high 25.00cm deep (22.05 inches wide 78.74 inches high 9.84 inches deep)

Current Condition

The case has been re-painted and off-white, the dial has been restored and the movement is going to be serviced and guaranteed for 12 months although the clock could be sold at a discount "as is" - (please email for details)
