This collection comprises eight early Georgian and Queen Anne brass candlesticks, presenting a rich warm gold colour with varied natural patina and surface wear. The group exhibits a diverse arrangement of forms, including turned baluster stems, a fluted column, one telescopic example, and several bases shaped as circles, squares, stepped platforms, and scalloped rims. The collection displays varying heights across the eight pieces. These candlesticks suit placement on a mantelpiece or sideboard within a traditional English country house interior, casting a warm ambient light in a living room, dining room, or hallway. They function well grouped together as a decorative focal point or distributed individually across surfaces throughout the home.

Brass candlesticks became widely available from the seventeenth century onwards, transitioning from heavy cast baluster forms to lighter, decorative fluted column designs during the Georgian era.

Historically, brass candlesticks were sand-cast in separate sections, such as the socket, stem, and base, which were then fitted together using internal threaded iron rods or brazing.

Authentic pieces feature visible hand-tooling marks, casting seam lines inside the socket, irregular hand-cut threads, and natural patination on the underside of the base.

Arranging a collection of varying heights and base forms along a mantelpiece or dining table creates visual interest through contrasting shapes and warm metallic tones.

Remove wax residue with warm water and soft cloths, then clean with a gentle brass polish or leave unpolished to preserve the naturally developed patina.
