This pair of serving spoons dates from the period around 1900 in the Scandinavian Revival style, originating from Norway and bearing the maker's mark of Marius Hammer alongside the 830s standard mark. Fabricated from solid silver with gilt highlights, the dual-tone pieces display a combination of silver and gold tones throughout. Each spoon features a round bowl decorated with an engraved cross, sun, moon and stars motif, connected by a stepped moulding section to a twisted wire stem which terminates in a spherical knop finial. The two utensils measure 19.6 cm long by 5.9 cm wide with a combined weight of 110 grams. In a contemporary home, this pair is suitable for display on a sideboard top or for use at the dining table during special gatherings.

Norwegian silver flatware from around 1900 frequently features traditional Scandinavian motifs, twisted handles, and engraved decoration inspired by historic Viking and folk art traditions.

Norwegian silversmiths commonly worked with the 830S standard, which denotes an alloy consisting of 830 parts per thousand pure silver, combined with copper for durability.

Authentic pieces are stamped with numeric purity marks such as 830S alongside recognised makers marks or hallmarks, such as the hammer emblem used by Bergen silversmith Marius Hammer.

Silver flatware pieces can be displayed in glass-fronted cabinets, layered on a dining sideboard tray, or mounted in framed shadowed displays as decorative metalwork accents.

Clean silver using a gentle microfibre cloth and specialised, non-abrasive silver polish to reduce tarnish and oxidisation while preserving gilding and subtle surface details.
