Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

These French Country bedside cabinets are a matching pair of 1900 furniture pieces made from pine with a light grey painted finish. Each cabinet contains a single top drawer fitted with a round turned wooden knob, positioned directly above a panelled cupboard door that opens to reveal an internal shelf. The cupboard door displays a decorative carved wreath applique in the upper section, and each unit stands on short straight feet. The cabinets measure 78 cm high, 50 cm wide, and 35 cm deep. Practical bedside companions for a bedroom today, these rustic farmhouse cabinets provide convenient surface space for a lamp and nightly essentials, alongside enclosed storage for books or personal items. The neutral grey paint palette integrates smoothly into various interior colour schemes, while the compact footprint fits easily beside a bed in a guest room or master suite.

FAQs

Originating in the 18th and 19th centuries, painted country furniture utilised softwoods such as pine, which were painted to protect the timber and add colour to traditional domestic interiors.

These pieces are constructed from solid pine timber, featuring traditional drawer joinery, panelled doors, and hand-turned wooden knobs.

Authentic pieces display natural wear to high-touch areas, layered historical paint finishes, traditional joinery techniques, and carved moulding details.

Position the pair symmetrically on either side of a bed frame, styling the top surfaces with modern table lamps and ceramic accessories to balance traditional character with contemporary design.

Dust surfaces regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a clear furniture wax periodically to protect the painted finish from moisture and surface marking.
