This 19th-century Regency Revival ladies desk bureau is made from warm brown mahogany with a leather insert surface, brass hardware, and a polished finish. The design incorporates slender turned reeded legs, an arched stretcher, a leather-lined writing surface with moulded edges, rounded corners, an elevated drawer superstructure with a shallow gallery, a frieze drawer with ring pulls and a key escutcheon, carved capitals, and tapered feet. The visible details include symmetrical small drawers, round knobs on the superstructure drawers, and a warm aged patina on the leather insert surface. Measuring 93 cm high, 71 cm wide, and 48 cm deep, this compact desk suits placement in a study, home office, or bedroom as a dedicated writing or workspace. It provides a practical surface for correspondence and paperwork while adding traditional Regency style to the interior.

Regency Revival writing desks incorporate design elements from the early 19th-century Regency era, such as reeded legs, classical symmetry, compact proportions, and high-grade mahogany veneers, produced during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

These bureaux are constructed primarily from solid mahogany and fine mahogany veneers, featuring brass hardware, leather insert writing surfaces, and hand-dovetailed drawer joints.

Authentic pieces exhibit construction techniques from the late Victorian or Edwardian periods, including fine-cut dovetails, smooth-running drawer linings, natural oxidisation on original brass handles, and authentic timber patina.

A compact writing desk can serve as a functional workstation in a bedroom, a focal console table in a hallway, or an accent desk in a traditional living space.

Keep the desk away from direct heat sources and sunlight, dust regularly with a soft lint-free cloth, and apply a high-quality beeswax polish periodically to protect the wood finish.
