This Regency Derby porcelain campana-shaped urn dates from around 1815. The main body displays hand-painted pink roses and other garden flowers set against a striking black ground, complemented by twin gilded loop handles and elaborate neoclassical gold leaf scrollwork on the white lower section and round pedestal foot. The interior rim is white with a gilt edge, while the black ground features visible floral detailing including yellow and purple blooms among the foliage. Measuring 16.5 cm high and 14 cm wide, the vessel stands on a stepped circular footplate with gilded border patterns. In a modern interior, this decorative piece suits display on a sideboard top or mantlepiece within a traditional living room, study or formal dining space. The design brings classic British Regency character to a room, functioning as a standalone ornamental object or holding a small seasonal floral arrangement. The porcelain construction carries a polished enamel finish with applied gilding highlights throughout the lower register, handles, and rim.

Regency Derby porcelain is characterised by classical shapes, rich burnished gilding, and finely detailed hand-painted botanical or landscape decoration executed on soft-paste or bone china bodies produced in Derby, England, during the early 19th century.

Early 19th-century English porcelain was slip-cast or hand-thrown using bone china or soft-paste bodies, kiln-fired, and subsequently decorated with hand-applied enamel pigments and gold leaf gilding prior to a final low-temperature firing.

Authentic pieces frequently display factory marks such as the painted crown and crossed batons with dots in red or iron red, accompanied by distinctive hand-painted enamelling styles and physical weight characteristics consistent with period bone china.

An antique porcelain urn functions as a focal decorative object when positioned on a chimneypiece, sideboard top, or within a glass display cabinet alongside minimalist contemporary artwork or dark hardwood furniture.

Clean antique gilded porcelain gently using a soft, dry microfibre cloth or a fine artist brush, avoiding water immersion, chemical detergents, or abrasive rubbing that can remove delicate gold leaf decoration.
