FAQs

Victorian oak furniture is characterised by solid construction, rich timber tones, and revivalist architectural details such as dentil cornices, deep moulding, and field-panelled doors.

These cabinets were constructed using solid oak or oak veneers, fitted with clear window glass panes, and detailed with cast brass escutcheons, handles, and iron hinges.

Authentic nineteenth-century pieces typically feature hand-cut dovetail joints on drawers, age-appropriate oxidisation on brass hardware, and shrinkage marks along solid timber backboards.

Position the cabinet against neutral walls in a dining area, hallway, or home office to contrast the deep wood grain while utilizing glazed shelving to curate ceramics or books.

Apply a natural beeswax polish along the grain once or twice annually to protect the timber finish, and clean glazed panels using a lint-free microfibre cloth.
