Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This 1920 rustic farmhouse display cabinet is fashioned from pine and finished in a warm brown tone with visible colour variation. The piece exhibits a moulded cornice, twin glazed astragal doors featuring multi-pane glass panels, and dark turned wooden knob handles. General wear consistent with age appears as scratches, knocks, and marks across the timber, alongside interior staining and wear to the shelves and back. Measuring 124 cm high, 128 cm wide, and 27.5 cm deep, the shallow proportions make it suitable for display and storage in a kitchen, dining room, living room, hallway, or study without taking up excessive floor space.

FAQs

Traditional country pine glazed cabinets were developed as practical storage solutions for European households and institutions during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Characterised by robust softwood frames and multi-paned glass doors, these cabinets allowed contents to remain visible while protecting them from dust.

Vintage pine cabinets typically feature mortise and tenon door frames, individually glazed timber muntins, and solid backboards often assembled with tongue-and-groove joinery. The timber is commonly finished with wax or shellac to highlight the natural grain.

Authentic pieces display signs of age such as slight timber shrinkage, hand-turned drawer or door handles, original steel or brass hinges, and minor imperfections in the glass panes. Glazed doors from earlier periods often retain mouth-blown glass with subtle distortion.

A pine glazed cabinet serves as a focal point in a dining room, kitchen, or hallway. Modern styling often involves pairing the warm timber tones with neutral wall palettes and displaying stoneware ceramics, books, or glassware inside.

Maintain the wood finish by dusting with a dry, lint-free cloth and applying clear beeswax polish periodically. Avoid positioning the cabinet near direct heat sources or in areas with extreme humidity fluctuations to protect the timber from cracking.
