Victorian Silver and Sliced-cut Teal Glass Scent Bottle, Circa 1880

Description

This is an unusual and rather striking silver and cut glass scent bottle. The plain silver hinged lid fitted on a sliced-cut teal glass body. The neck fitted with the original teal glass stopper. It is a very tactile piece.

Hallmarks:

Unmarked as was very often the case with early scent bottles but tested as silver.

Dimensions:

Height: 9.5cm / 3.6 inches.

Maximum width: 4.5cm / 1.6 inches.

Depth: 2cm / 0.6 inches.

Condition:

Very good.
