N Wilson Antiques Clocks has dated this Black Chinoiserie Mantel Clock to the 1960s.
This beautiful and very large clock is made by the esteemed Elliott London. The dial is brass and engraved and has a silvered chapter ring set out in roman numerals.
The dial is also signed “AN Elliott CLOCK” and “MADE IN ENGLAND”.

The case is beautiful and extremely rare on a clock this size as it has a cream base colour adorned with beautiful chinoiserie paint work. The sides of the case feature people and oriental houses with the front and top featuring a multitude of flowers and houses. The paintwork is an array of beautiful golds, reds, and blues.

The clock is three train and wound via the door to the front.
The movement is accessed via the rear door and chimes both Westminster and Whittington which can be adjusted via the back. The clock also features an automatic night shut off which stop the clock from chiming between 11pm and 7am. The clock is ticking away and chiming perfectly as it should.
It measures approximately:
15.5” / 39.25cm Tall.
8.75” / 22cm Wide.
6” / 15cm Deep.
