Salisbury Antiques Centre has dated this Victorian Ash Linen Press to the 1880s.
Constructed in beautifully figured pale ash with warm honey colouring and excellent grain throughout, the cupboard is surmounted by a bold moulded cornice above a pair of panelled cupboard doors retaining their original brass catch.
The lower section comprises two short drawers above two long graduated drawers, all with hand-cut dovetail construction and fitted with attractive period brass drop handles. The drawers run smoothly and provide an abundance of storage.
The restrained Victorian design and pale ash finish make this an exceptionally versatile piece, equally at home in a bedroom, kitchen, dining room, hallway or country house interior.
