Beautiful Painted Pine Chest with Hand Forged Iron Strapwork

Description

This is a delightful 19th century pine chest in really excellent condition and hand painted in a beautiful teal blue shade.

The chest dates from around 1870 and has very attractive hand forged ironwork strapping and reinforcing corner brackets. This has its original escutcheon and good quality hand forged lock (sadly no longer with a key). It has its original solid iron strap hinges in excellent condition and a neat candle box to the interior. This is attractively raised on stout solid pine bun feet.

The chest is a lovely size for a coffee table or storage at 86 long by 46 high and 46 deep.
