Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian silver design, dating from 1901 to 1910, is defined by clean lines, classical proportions, and subtle Art Nouveau influences. Silversmiths of this era favoured simplified contours, refined linear borders, and lighter structural profiles compared to earlier periods.

These boxes were constructed from sterling silver containing 92.5 percent pure silver alloyed with copper for durability. Silversmiths used techniques such as machine stamping, hand-raising, and precision soldering to attach hinges and rim mouldings.

Authentic British silver items feature a series of stamped hallmarks including an assay office mark such as the Birmingham anchor, a lion passant standard mark indicating sterling purity, a date letter, and maker initials.

A silver box functions effectively on a bedside table, dressing vanity, or office desk to hold small personal accessories. Its metallic finish offers visual contrast when displayed against natural timber or stone surfaces.

Maintain sterling silver by wiping surfaces with a non-abrasive microfibre cloth and applying specialised silver polish periodically to eliminate tarnish. Store items away from excess humidity and pollutants to prevent rapid oxidisation.
