Swedish Mora Longcase Clock

Description

A traditional Swedish Mora longcase clock. It has a painted pine case with a circular hood and a shaped trunk. It has a painted convex dial and a weight driven movement that strikes the hours on a bell. (Sweden, c. 1830)

57.00cm wide 203.00cm high 19.00cm deep (22.44 inches wide 79.92 inches high 7.48 inches deep)

Provenance

These clocks were made in the Mora area of Sweden from the 1700s to about 1850.

Current Condition

The case has been repainted a duck-egg and cream colour. The movement has not been serviced and is sold not working. It could be serviced and guaranteed for a cost of £475 plus vat if required.

20% deposit will secure this item for up to three months
