17th Century Style Oak Coffer

1920 - 1940
Description

An oak coffer in the 17th century style, with a richly detailed panelled front. The front is arranged with two large geometric moulded panels flanking a smaller central panel, decorated with applied split turnings and ebonised inset details. Further moulded decoration runs beneath the hinged plank top. The coffer opens to a spacious interior and stands on stile feet with shaped openings to the sides. Constructed from oak with a warm, dark colour and considerable character throughout.
