Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Vasart glass was produced in Scotland by members of the Ysart family starting in the mid-20th century, evolving directly from the earlier Monart tradition. The glassware is defined by vibrant colour combinations, mottled rims, and decorative inclusions such as mica or aventurine.

Aventurine glass is created by incorporating tiny metallic flakes, typically copper or gold-coloured inclusions, into molten glass during furnace blowing. This technique leaves a shimmering, suspended metallic effect sealed beneath the smooth outer surface.

Authentic pieces generally display pontil marks on the base, characteristic mottled upper borders, heavy thick-walled glass construction, and internal flecking patterns. Weight and distinct color blending are key physical indicators.

Positioning the vase near natural light, such as on a window sill or glass surface, allows light to pass through and highlight internal colour variations. It serves effectively as a standalone decorative object or as part of a curated glass collection.

Hand wash gently in warm water using a mild soap and a non-abrasive sponge, drying immediately with a lint-free cloth. Avoid extreme temperature changes, harsh chemical cleaners, and automated dishwashers to protect the material from thermal shock and surface damage.
