The World is Made of Glass Ltd. has dated this Georgian Cut Glass Jar to the 19th Century.
The jar is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the base consistent with some 200 years of age and use.
It measures 9.5 cm (3.8 inches) in diameter at its widest point. The base is star-cut to the edge. The lid is of radially cut mushroom form, and is probably the original. Assembled, the jar measures 13 cm (5.2 inches) in height. There are a number of tiny flea-bite chips to some of the cut facets, including the edge of the lid peg. There are no other chips, cracks, scratches or any evidence of restoration.
A rare survivor in excellent condition for its type. It weighs in at 525 g. (~ 1 lb. 3 oz.).
