Sifter spoons were designed during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries for sprinkling powdered sugar or spices over fresh fruit, desserts, and warm beverages.

Georgian sifter spoons were primarily crafted from solid sterling silver, featuring hand-pierced bowl perforations and chased or engraved handles.

Authentic pieces feature official British hallmarks denoting the silver purity mark, city assay mark, date letter, and makers mark stamped onto the handle stem or bowl.

It can be displayed inside a glass-fronted cabinet, incorporated into a formal dining table setting, or arranged on a silver tray alongside period tea accessories.

Clean gently using a soft cloth alongside a specialized non-abrasive silver polish, avoiding harsh chemical dips, and store inside a tarnish-resistant cloth bag.
