Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This 1930 rustic Indian storage cupboard is handmade from reclaimed rosewood in a warm brown timber shade. It has a moulded cornice along the top, double louvre shutter doors with vertical wooden slats, and two bottom drawers fitted with dark cast iron cup handles. The reclaimed door panels originate from old buildings in Rajasthan and show visible age and wear in the wood grain. Measuring 1035 mm wide by 400 mm deep and 1710 mm high, the wardrobe serves as a practical storage unit for clothing, linens or household items. It sits well in a bedroom, hallway or living area decorated in a rustic farmhouse or eclectic global style.

FAQs

Louvre door cupboards feature angled slats that were originally designed in warmer climates to promote air circulation while keeping light out, protecting linens and food items from humidity and dust.

Reclaimed rosewood cabinets are typically built using traditional joinery methods, such as mortise and tenon joints, combined with salvaged solid timber to create structural stability and durability.

Authentic reclaimed wood furniture displays visible signs of its previous usage, including variations in grain, original nail holes, weathered surface texture, and a heavy overall weight characteristic of hardwoods like Indian rosewood.

A reclaimed wooden cabinet works well as a grounding focal point when positioned against neutral walls, paired with modern metal accents, woven natural textiles, and muted colour palettes.

To preserve solid rosewood, wipe the surface regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a clear beeswax polish twice yearly, avoiding placement near direct heat sources or high humidity.
