Long Case Mahogany Clock

18th century
Description

A late eighteenth century mahogany clock by Bidlake of London. This was probably James Bidlake, son of James, who was apprenticed in 1772.

The case with figured flame mahogany veneers, and finely shaped mouldings.

The quarter columns on the trunk, and the hood columns are stopped in brass.

The white dial with subsidiary dials for seconds and date indicators, and a strike/silent lever in the arch, having an eight day duration movement.

The whole is in excellent condition.
