A stunning, chic classical antique French clock. It features a most beautifully figured specimen marble, orange, pink, terracotta in colour and specially cut to emphasis the light to dark banding of the material. It is mounted with ormolu (fine gilded bronze / brass) in the classical taste of Louis XVI, half pillars to the sides, an intricate swag to the front and a scroll handled urn to the top. The ormolu is in stunning condition with bright and clean original gilding. The base is also inset with swags to the three sides. The urn to the top of the clock is carved so that the banding of the stone is in the vertical plane.

The dial is enamel on copper with delicate floral swags between the lettering and finely fretted gilt brass hands. The bezel is fitted with convex glass and the rear door is also glazed to allow the movement to be seen.

The French movement is by A.D Mougin and is of the makers usual high quality. Our clockmaker has stripped, cleaned and inspected the movement. After re-assembly we have tested it thoroughly to ensure trouble free running. The pendulum is original. The movement runs for 8 days between winds and strikes the hours and half-hours on a bell. Condition of the case is excellent with clean and bright finish to the marble. There are occasional light scratches some nibbles to the edges. There is hardly any wear to the original gilding. The dial is also in good condition, some slight nibbles around the winding holes and some chipping to the bottom of the dial that can cannot be seen with the bezel closed.

Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
