This clear lead crystal Georgian rummer comes from England during the period of King George III around 1820. The drinkware piece stands 13 cm high with an ogee bowl measuring 8.9 cm in diameter and a conical foot with a diameter of 7.3 cm. The clear glass construction features an engraved hop and barley motif, a monogram cartouche with the initials CF, a band of flute cuts on the base of the bowl, an annular stem knop, and a flat foot. The transparent lead crystal shows no chips, cracks, or restoration. Positioned on a sideboard top, this Georgian glass fits naturally within a gentleman's library setting. The traditional tableware serves as a display piece or decorative container for small items in a period home interior.

Originating in late 18th and early 19th-century Britain, a rummer is a large drinking glass with a short stem, solid foot, and wide bowl, traditionally used for serving ale, cider, or punch.

Glassware from this era was hand-blown using heavy lead crystal, featuring wheel-engraved surface decoration, hand-cut facet details, and sheared or polished rims.

Authentic pieces display hand-engraved motifs with minor variations, a ground pontil mark on the underside of the foot, and the characteristic weight and greyish hue of early lead glass.

These vessels can be displayed on a dining room sideboard, arranged on a styled drinks trolley, or illuminated within a glass cabinet alongside modern barware.

Wash by hand using lukewarm water and mild detergent, avoiding dishwashers and rapid temperature changes to prevent thermal shock or clouding of the glass.
