Palais Royal scent bottles are luxury souvenirs and vanity items sold in the Palais-Royal precinct of Paris during the nineteenth century, often featuring hand-painted enamel plaques and gilt bronze mounts.

These caskets were typically crafted from wooden foundations covered in leather or shagreen, accented with brass hardware, and lined with silk velvet or satin to securely hold delicate glass or crystal flasks.

Authentic pieces exhibit period-correct construction methods, such as hand-cut brass pins, genuine leather tooling, fine hand-painted miniature details under glass, and characteristic French gilt bronze mounts from the era.

An antique scent casket can be displayed on a dressing table, mantelpiece, or glass-fronted cabinet to add a touch of historical elegance and texture to a curated interior space.

To preserve leather-covered antiques, keep them out of direct sunlight to prevent fading, maintain stable indoor humidity levels, and gently dust the surfaces with a soft, dry cloth without applying modern chemical treatments.
