Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originally introduced in the eighteenth century and widely produced throughout the Victorian period, a decanter labelalso known as a bottle ticketis a small silver plaque hung around the neck of a decanter to identify its spirit or wine contents.

Victorian decanter labels were primarily crafted from sterling silver, Sheffield plate, or electroplated nickel silver, often decorated with hand-chased scrollwork, die-stamped borders, and suspension chains.

Authentic Victorian pieces typically feature British hallmarks including a town mark, makers mark, date letter, lion passant for sterling silver, and occasionally a monarchs duty mark.

These labels can be hung on glass decanters displayed on a home bar cart, sideboard, or tray to bring traditional craftsmanship into contemporary entertaining spaces.

Polish gently using a soft silver cloth and mild silver foam, avoiding harsh chemical dips or abrasive brushes that could wear down delicate chasing or hallmark details.
