A Lovely Georgian Silver 'cayenne' Bottle Ticket

A desirable Georgian silver ''Cayenne Pepper'' condiment label or bottle ticket. This wonderful piece is rectangular in shape, with ''clipped'' corners and the word ''Cayenne'' is engraved to the centre. The border is reeded and the label is supported on a belcher chain. Condiments came in many forms in Georgian times, including items such as Cayenne pepper - more usually found as a cooking ingredient nowadays.
 
An excellent, rare and unusual piece of Georgian table silver. Dimensions below.
