Decorative Aurelian Ware pedestal vase with cover and twin side handles, model 143.9, designed by William Moorcroft for James MacIntyre & Co., Burslem, circa 1898.
Designed as a cabinet piece, the vase has a shallow bowl on a tall stem and a domed cover with a pointed gilt finial. The decoration features a cobalt-blue ground, heavy gilding, and rust-orange floral motifs, combining transfer printing with hand-applied enamels.
The base bears traces of an erased factory mark and the impressed shape number “143.9”.
A well-preserved example of late Victorian English art pottery.
