Nineteenth-century glass frequently features wheel-cut or acid-etched floral, botanical, or geometric motifs, reflecting the technological advancements and design revivals of the period.

Traditional items from this era were typically crafted from lead crystal or flint glass, prized for clarity, weight, and the capacity to hold intricate surface engravings.

Authentic pieces often display pontil marks on the base, minor surface irregularities from hand-blowing, and a dull thud rather than a modern high-pitched ring when tapped, depending on the lead content.

These pieces can be displayed within glass-fronted cabinets or utilised on dining tables to introduce historical texture and sophisticated craftsmanship to contemporary settings.

Antique glass should be washed by hand in lukewarm water using a mild detergent, avoiding harsh scrubbing or sudden temperature changes to prevent thermal shock and damage to the surface.
