A superbly stylish Queen Anne style walnut dressing or footstool, circa 1900 with exuberant cabriole legs and carved knees, upon pointed pad feet.
The ornate rectangular stool features a classical, needlepoint tapestry seat, probably its original cover, displaying a baroque garden scene with a courting couple, presented in mostly very good and original condition, some minimal historic repairs.
A country house style antique stool of considerable decorative appeal and practical use for a day or bedroom, dressing room or bathroom etc. An interior design piece that can enhance a classic or contemporary space.
