We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A rummer is a type of short-stemmed drinking vessel with a broad bowl and sturdy foot, widely produced throughout the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries for serving wine, ale, or punch.

Opalescent glass is manufactured by introducing heat-reactive compounds, such as bone ash or fluorides, into the glass batch, resulting in a semi-translucent, milky iridescence upon cooling.

Authentic nineteenth-century pieces feature hand-applied gilded decoration showing minor rub wear on raised areas, hand-blown characteristics like base pontil marks, and subtle variations in glass thickness.

An antique glass rummer functions well as a decorative accent displayed on a dining room sideboard, arranged inside a glazed cabinet, or integrated into a curated barware collection.

Wash gently by hand in lukewarm water using mild washing-up liquid and a soft cloth, avoiding abrasive pads or dishwashers that strip gilded details.
