Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 1890s.
The eight-day movement, retains its original lever platform escapement, striking hours and half-hours on a gong and repeating the hours at will. The good enamel dial is perfect; the blued steel hands are original and it is signed on the dial and the backplate by both the retailer (T. Martin & Co) and the trademark of Drocourt (a carriage clock flanked by the initials “D” & “C”). Perfect working order and guaranteed for at least two years. 5ins high (handle down). French circa 1885-1890.
Please note that this fine Carriage Clock is not on view in the shop; for further details telephone 07860 818212 or e-mail in the normal way.
