This nineteenth-century Regency footstool takes the form of an X-frame curule seat attributed to Miles and Edwards, constructed from painted wood with parcel gilt highlights. The painted frame combines a pale grey finish with gilded carved acanthus leaves, decorative mouldings, and turned elements. The square seat features traditional upholstery in an off-white fabric, bordered by a row of brass studding, and sits atop four scrolled feet. Surface wear is visible across the aged fabric and the painted and gilded wooden surfaces.
