We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Gilded glassware gained prominence in France during the 19th and early 20th centuries, often produced in renowned glass-making regions for elite dining and entertaining.

These pieces are typically crafted from blown or moulded clear glass featuring hand-applied gold leaf or gilt rims fired at high temperatures for adhesion.

Authentic pieces often exhibit minor imperfections such as tiny bubbles in the glass, hand-worn gilding, and pontil marks on the base indicating manual production.

Vintage glassware can be displayed on open shelving, bar carts, or used practically during dinner parties to introduce texture and subtle metallic warmth to a tablescape.

Antique gilded items require gentle hand washing in lukewarm water with mild soap; they should never be placed in a dishwasher or soaked for extended periods to protect the gold finish.
