The well-figured top has a drop-front secretaire drawer, fitted with its original drawer stopper, pigeonholes, small drawers, and a writing section, above four graduated oak-lined drawers. Each drawer is fitted with original brass military inset handles, with brass bounds on the sides, and the piece stands on turned bun feet. This antique military chest retains its original finish, which has been carefully cleaned, revived, and waxed, showcasing its original patina and rich gradation of colours.
