This clear lead glass rummer dates from the Georgian Regency period. The bucket bowl carries a wheel engraving of a sailing ship passing beneath the Wearmouth iron bridge, an initialed reverse beneath a pennant border, and a band of dot and line decoration near the rim. The vessel stands on a knopped stem above a stepped circular foot. It measures 13.5 cm high, 9 cm wide, and 7.5 cm deep. Display this drinking glass on a dining room sideboard top or within a cabinet as part of a glassware collection. It suits traditional interiors and historical table settings, functioning equally well as a decorative display piece or as a cabinet accent in a living space.

A Sunderland Bridge rummer is an engraved drinking vessel created in Britain during the late 18th and early 19th centuries, featuring depictions of the Wearmouth Bridge built over the River Wear in 1796.

Regency rummers were mouth-blown using heavy lead glass before being shaped by hand and decorated with wheel-engraved motifs by skilled glass cutters.

Authentic period examples exhibit characteristic hand-wheel engraving, minor air bubbles or seeds within the lead glass, slight asymmetry from mouth-blowing, and surface wear on the base rim.

These decorative glass pieces can be displayed on a sideboard top, within a glass-fronted cabinet, or on a bar cart where direct light highlights the detailed engraving.

Hand wash the glass carefully using lukewarm water and mild liquid detergent, avoiding abrasive sponges, harsh chemical cleaners, or high-temperature dishwashers.
