A charming and rare late 19th century “BOUDOIR” or miniature CARRIAGE CLOCK in perfect working order. The pretty tortoiseshell case features gold mounts and an engraved gold upper carrying handle with engraved gold hinges and latch to the back door. The eight-day movement retains its original lever platform escapement; and features an integral fixed winding key and hands-adjustment control. It is signed “E.G.L Paris” to the backplate. The silvered dial has Arabic numerals and pretty blued steel ‘spade’ hands. A very pretty and unusual timepiece ~ ideal for the bedroom? About 3ins high; circa 1890.
