This is a light green, English, export, balustroid wine glass dating from the mid 18th century, c1770. These glasses were made in England for export to the Continent and reflected the continental preferences of the time. The glass is in excellent condition for its age. This means, of course, that it shows the age related wear and tear to both the rim of the bowl and to the rim of the foot commensurate with 200+ years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the underside of the foot.The glass has a cup-shaped bowl measuring 6 cm (2.4 inches) in diameter at the slightly everted rim. The bowl sits on a hollow stem with a drop knop above an inverted baluster and basal knop. The stem leads to a domed foot which measures 6.2 cm (2.5 inches) in diameter. The glass is 14 cm (5.6 inches) in height. There is a minute tooth-mark to the bowl rim which can just be felt with a fingernail as shown in the appropriate image.
