Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Popularised during the 1920s and 1930s, Art Deco illuminated clocks combine functional timekeeping with sculptural figures and integrated ambient lighting. These pieces feature bold geometric silhouettes, contrasting marble or onyx bases, and stylised figures crafted from bronze or spelter.

Art Deco clocks commonly utilised multi-coloured variegated marble, onyx, frosted or pressed glass, and spelter or bronze for the sculptural figures. The clock movements were typically mechanical, often housed within geometric metal and glass surrounds.

Authentic pieces exhibit signature design motifs of the era, such as stepped geometric bases, stylised fan patterns, angular numerals, and classic 1930s typography. Additionally, genuine vintage examples show characteristic wear on the metal patina, period wiring or conversions, and natural veining within the stone.

Place the clock as a central focal point on a sleek sideboard, fireplace mantelpiece, or console table to showcase its sculptural silhouette and soft background lighting. Pair it with minimalist dark timber or metallic accents to complement its geometric lines without cluttering the surface.

Dust the marble and sculptural elements regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth, avoiding harsh liquid chemicals that can etch natural stone. Ensure any electrical lighting components are inspected by a qualified electrician prior to use.
