Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Nouveau glassware is characterised by organic, fluid lines inspired by natural forms such as flowers, stems, and plant structures. Developed in the late 19th century, this style frequently incorporates iridescent surface lustres, asymmetrical silhouettes, and intricate glassmaking techniques.

Favrile glass is created by treating molten silica with metallic oxides so that the colour penetrates the glass material itself rather than remaining on the surface. This chemical reaction produces a metallic sheen with dynamic, rainbow-like surface iridescence.

Authentic Tiffany Favrile objects generally feature hand-engraved signatures or initials on the underside, often accompanied by numeric codes or the inscription L.C.T.. Genuine examples exhibit smooth, polished pontil marks and consistent, high-grade iridescence across the surface.

An Art Nouveau vase can be positioned on a sideboard, mantelpiece, or deep window sill where natural sunlight interacts with its metallic surface sheen. Displaying the piece against a neutral background allows its floral form and reflective hues to serve as a focal point.

Clean iridescent glass using tepid water and a mild liquid soap, wiping gently with a soft microfibre cloth. Avoid harsh chemical sprays, abrasive cloths, or dishwasher washing, as these can strip or scratch the delicate metallic oxide layer.
