We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian jewellery, spanning from roughly 1901 to 1910, is characterised by light, airy designs, often featuring platinum, yellow gold, pearls, and diamonds set in intricate openwork motifs influenced by Garland style aesthetics.

Traditional materials for this era included 9-carat or 15-carat gold, silver-topped gold, natural seed pearls, hand-cut gemstones, and high-quality leaded glass known as paste.

Authentic pieces often feature period-appropriate fastenings such as a C-clasp or early safety catch, alongside genuine hand-cut stones, natural seed pearls, and hallmark stamps corresponding to British assay offices of the period.

Antique brooches can be worn pinned to lapels of wool coats, securing silk scarves, fastened at the neckline of a blouse, or repurposed as a modern hair accessory.

Antique jewellery should be stored individually in soft pouches away from moisture and direct sunlight. Clean gently with a dry microfibre cloth, avoiding harsh chemical dips or ultrasonic cleaners which can damage foil-backed paste or pearls.
