Victorian glassware typically features ornate wheel-engraved motifs, robust forms, and varied functional designs influenced by technological advancements and shifting dining customs during the 19th century.

These items were traditionally hand-blown from lead crystal or soda-lime glass, then decorated using hand-cut fluting, wheel engraving, and polished pontil marks on the base.

Authenticity is assessed by examining the weight of the glass, the presence of surface wear consistent with age, hand-cut detailing, and an unpolished or fire-polished pontil scar at the base.

Antique carafes can be displayed on sideboards, open shelving, or bar carts to add reflective texture, or repurposed as single-stem flower vases in contemporary spaces.

Antique glass should be washed by hand using warm water and mild detergent, avoiding harsh abrasives and sudden temperature changes to protect the historic material.
