Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco design, prominent from the 1920s to the 1930s, is characterised by geometric symmetry, stylised motifs such as sunbursts and fans, and the use of modern materials including machine-turned metals and vibrantly coloured enamels.

These items typically combine cut crystal or moulded glass bases with sterling silver mounts and guilloche or translucent enamel lids, often crafted using engine-turning techniques to create intricate patterns beneath the coloured glaze.

Authenticity is verified through clear hallmarks stamped on the silver rim, indicating the assay office, silver standard, and a date letter corresponding to the year of manufacture, alongside examining the hand-applied enamel for age-appropriate wear.

This piece functions effectively as a decorative accent when displayed on a modern dressing table, bathroom shelf, or bedside surface, adding a pop of colour and historical texture to minimalist spaces.

Preservation requires storing items away from direct sunlight to prevent enamel fading, avoiding abrasive cleaners on the delicate glass and silver surfaces, and using a soft cloth for gentle polishing.
