A rummer is a large, sturdy drinking glass that became popular in Britain during the late 18th and 19th centuries, typically used for serving ale, wine, or punch.

These pieces were typically crafted from lead glass, often utilising moulding techniques such as petal or flute moulding combined with hand-finished stems and feet.

Authentic pieces often exhibit characteristics such as pontil marks on the base, minor surface imperfections or air bubbles within the lead glass, and wear consistent with age.

Displaying antique glassware in open shelving, cabinets, or on serving trays adds historic character and texture to contemporary dining or living spaces.

Antique glass should always be washed by hand in lukewarm water using mild detergent, avoiding sudden temperature changes and abrasive materials.
